How We Got Started Buying Ugly Houses

RHO Enterprises, originally started as an independently owned and operated franchise of HomeVestors of America founded in 2005 by two civil engineers and a financial planner. With strong construction and finance backgrounds, RHO Enterprises has flourished even during the housing and economic downturn. What started as a single rehab project in Penn Hills, has grown into a multi-million dollar partnership involving over 2,100 real estate investors, dozens of contractors, and many other real estate professionals, including agents, lenders, title companies, inspectors, and appraisers.

Andy Redlinger : Managing Member and Operating Partner - Andy’s role at HomeVestors includes reviewing all leads, assessing viable properties, and negotiating the purchase price with the seller. He also develops and coordinates most of the rehab projects and handles all utility issues. Andy has a strong construction background with extensive experience in concrete construction and general contracting. He was previously employed as a civil engineer and oversaw the development of dozens of projects including the construction of wastewater treatment plants in Rostraver and St. Mary, both costing $6.2 and $20.4 million dollars, respectively. Andy received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Point Park College. Originally from West Mifflin, Andy now resides in Upper St. Clair with his wife, Nicole, a Keystone Oaks school teacher, and daughter, Emma.

Mark O'Brien: Managing Member and Operating Partner - In addition to inspecting, evaluating and showing most of HomeVestors’ wholesale properties, Mark’s other primary responsibilities include managing the firm’s accounting, mortgage lending and insurance departments. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the finance and mortgage banking fields where he has served as a loan officer, underwriter, mortgage office manager, wholesale account executive, and a licensed financial advisor. He was also a co-owner with Andy of Ohio’s first Dekhockey rink from 1994-1998. Mark received his B.S. in Economics from Penn State University where he was a member of the Nittany Lion Icer varsity hockey team. Mark grew up in Pleasant Hills but currently resides in Carnegie.

Melissa Kiefer: Office Coordinator - Melissa joined the Homevestors team in June of 2014. She is the initial contact for all homeowners who reach out to our franchise to sell their home. She is responsible for the advertising and marketing of our wholesale properties. Melissa helps manage our multiple rental properties.
